The AIA Northern Indiana Chapter held their annual business meeting and reception at the Studebaker National Museum in South Bend, IN. New chapter officers were elected (see list of officers), a review of 2007 events and a preview of upcoming 2008 was given, and state chapter updates were provided by AIA Indiana President Tim Wall, AIA, and AIA Indiana and Indianapolis Executive Director Jason Shelley. Also, design awards were presented. Design award winners and photos will be posted on this page soon.

In Memory Of....

Lee J. Brockway, AIA, Principal Emeritus at Fanning Howey, Michigan City, died peacefully at age 75 on December 16, 2007 of pancreatic cancer.  Brockway graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1955 with an architectural degree.  While there, he served as president of the student chapter of the American Institute of Architects.

A long-time member of the AIA, he was Past-President of the Indiana Society of Architects, as well as leading the Northern Indiana Chapter of the AIA. He also served as Past-Chairman of the AIAs Committee on Architecture for Education and its Research Council.  Brockway was recognized in Indiana and nationally for educational facility planning and design.
