AIA Indiana Days
At The Statehouse

You are invited to
participate in our 2009
AIA Indiana Days at the Statehouse. New
dates forthcoming. For more information
contact Executive Director Jason Shelley, jshelley@aiaindiana.org,
317/634-6993.
AIA Indiana Days at the Statehouse begin
at 12 p.m. with lunch and end no later than 3 p.m.
AIA Indiana Days at the Statehouse provides
members an opportunity to learn about key state legislative and
regulatory issues. Members become a lobbyist for an afternoon
and use their clout to directly impact the legislative process. AIA
Indiana members meet with their state legislators and discuss various
issues important to architects including sustainable design, interior
design registration, services tax, etc.
A unified voice is
vital. Don’t wait to get involved!

Interior Design .....
(March 7, 2008)
An interior design registration veto override
attempt failed 15-31 in the Indiana General Assembly! Thank you
to all who contacted their state senator. Your clout and influence
made a difference!!
SB 490 (2007) last session's interior design registration
bill vetoed by the Governor in a very strongly worded message,
was posted to be considered for a veto override by the Indiana
Senate. The veto override effort was surprising considering the
fact Gov. Daniels’ veto message was so strong and that other
much more important issues (property taxes) are still being debated.
