Design Trends 2012: Inspiration and Innovation
Presented by Judd Lord, Director of Industrial Design, Brizo
Hosted by Brizo
11 a.m.

About the Speaker: Judd Lord, Director of Industrial Design, Delta Faucet Company - A designer for Delta Faucet Company for over 18 years, Judd Lord took over the reins of industrial design in 2000. Judd designed many of the Delta brand's most successful product collections and was instrumental in laying out the groundwork for the Brizo brand portfolio, personally designing several of the initial marquee product suites.

Judd's work has received hundreds of design patents and his ability to make an emotional connection with the consumer through product design has earned him and his designs numerous awards, including Platinum, Gold and Silver ADEX Awards from Design Journal, the American Building Product Award from Home magazine, 2000 IDEA and 2003 Catalyst Award from Industrial Designers Society of America and Business Week, as well as several Good Design Awards from The Chicago Athenaeum.

Judd's education from Purdue University was the genesis of his design career. There, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in inventive design engineering and a Master of Arts degree in industrial design. Judd views product design as both an artistic and structural engineering challenge. He leans on inspiration found in architecture, different cultures and nature to enhance his technical background to create what he calls functional sculpture.
